During the teleconference, Right on Crime will outline effective and data-driven reforms that could benefit Georgia as the state’s Criminal Justice Reform Council looks to release its recommendations in November, and Georgia seeks to revamp its criminal justice system based on the Council’s recommendations.
Speakers at today’s event include Marc Levin of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, who was monumental in working with the Perry administration and others to implement smart-justice reforms in Texas, David Keene, former chairman of the American Conservative Union, and Kelly McCutchen, president and CEO of the Georgia Public Policy Foundation.

The nationwide initiative believes that applying conservative principles, such as limited government, personal responsibility, and individual liberty, to criminal justice policy will decrease the system’s cost and help to protect citizens, prioritize victims and reform wrongdoers. Right on Crime has garnered the support of former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, former Attorney General Ed Meese, and former Director of National Drug Control Policy Bill Bennett, along with more than two dozen other conservatives.
