We have seen the images and read the details of the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene on parts of Georgia. To date, 25 Georgians have lost their lives.
But Georgians are among the most charitable people in the country and have a history of supporting one another in times of trouble. As we come together to support those in need, we encourage you to contribute to relief and recovery efforts in Georgia. If you aren’t sure how to help, here are a few organizations to consider.
1. Mission Georgia – Offering food, water and other supplies, along with an incident management team to coordinate recovery efforts and help individual families.
2. American Red Cross – Providing safe shelter, food, emotional support and health services to impacted families.
3. Churches of Christ Disaster Response – Working with local churches and organizing volunteers to provide food, water and other needs.
4. Catholic Charities – Assisting with food, shelter, and rebuilding efforts.
5. Salvation Army – Providing emergency aid, food, drinks, emotional and spiritual care and long-term recovery services to survivors
6. Samaritan’s Purse – Working with residents in hurricane clean up.
These organizations are committed to helping our neighbors recover and rebuild their lives. I hope you will check out their websites for more information and consider donating today.
