The Rise of the New Puritans
October 2 @ 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Georgia Freedom series! We are fortunate to again be working with National Review Institute for our inaugural event and hope you can join us!
Our speaker will be National Review’s Noah Rothman.
In addition to being a senior writer for National Review, Rothman is regularly published in USA Today, the Washington Examiner, the New York Post, the New York Times, the Atlantic, the Washington Post, and elsewhere.
He recently wrote “The Rise of the New Puritans: Fighting Back Against Progressives’ War on Fun.”
In The Rise of the New Puritans, Rothman opines that, in pursuit of a better world, progressives are ruining the very things which make life worth living. They’ve created a society full of verbal trip wires and digital witch hunts. Football? Too violent. Fusion food? Appropriation. The nuclear family? Oppressive.
Rothman believes that not since the Puritans has a political movement wanted so much power over your thoughts, hobbies, and preferences every minute of your day. In the process, they are sucking the joy out of life.
Join us for his commentary about the historical roots of the left’s war on fun and a discussion of freedom and personal fulfillment at the heart of the American experiment.
